Rafiq : Good afternoon, Rana. How’re you?
Rana : Good afternoon, Rafiq. I’m fine, thanks. What about you?
Rafiq : I’m fine too. Thank you.
Rana : You know recently I’ve been thinking that I want to be a teacher in future.
Rafiq : Why would you want to be a teacher?
Rana : Well, you see currently about 40% of whole population is still illiterate. And it’s causing a huge problem in our society.
Rafiq : What kind of problem?
Rana : Well, the development of our country is getting hampered because of the huge number of illiterate people.
Rafiq : How? Would you please explain?
Rana : Well, literate people understand how to build up their life. They abide social rules and regulations. Educated people understand how to contribute to the development of our country while illiterate people become a burden to the society.
Rafiq : How can we eradicate illiteracy from our country?
Rana : Well, first of all, people should be made aware if the importance of literacy. As primary education is already compulsory, people should be inspired to go for higher education.
Rafiq : What else can we do?
Rana : Well, more free schools and colleges should be established by the government. I hope, the number of literate people will grow a lot by these steps.
